Soccer Game Preview: Bloomington vs. Rialto

The Bloomington Bruins will square off against the Rialto Knights at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Bloomington's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Bloomington's offense. They lost 5-0 to Carter on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 966th, while the Lions are ranked 313th).

Meanwhile, Rialto waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Yellowjackets onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Melissa Ramirez and Jazmine Aguayo scored all three of Rialto's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Rialto's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Bloomington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10-1.
