Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Comes Up Short

Hawthorne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the Centennial Apaches, falling 62-2. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Erin Jackson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Centennial, dropping a triple-double on 27 points, 18 rebounds, and ten blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least a third of Centennial's points. Another player making a difference was Ayanna Graham, who posted eight points and nine boards.

Hawthorne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Centennial, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.

Hawthorne will be playing at home against Leuzinger at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Leuzinger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season. As for Centennial, they will face off against Beverly Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
