Soccer Recap: Tulelake Takes Down Ranked Fall River

Tulelake faced Fall River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Honkers' defense stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 1-0 shutout.

Tulelake has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That gives them a 4-1 record this season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Trinity and 0-4 Butte Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 23.8% over those games). Having lost for the first time this season, Fall River fell to 4-1.

Coming up, Tulelake's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity are coming into the match with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Tulelake will have to defend against a team out to prove they can win away from home. As for Fall River, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Etna at 5:00 p.m. on September 15.
