Recap: Woodlake Tigers vs. Farmersville Aztecs
The Woodlake Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a hard 47-32 fall against Farmersville. Woodlake lost against Farmersville in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 70-15 score last time.
Farmersville found their leader in underclassman Jazmaine Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 steals. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Estrella Valencia, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 steals.
Woodlake dropped their record down to 10-17 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Farmersville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
Woodlake will be playing at home against Corcoran at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Corcoran will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Woodlake surely won't give up without a fight. As for Farmersville, they will head out on the road to take on Wonderful College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Farmersville is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wonderful College Prep Academy in California (Farmersville is ranked 578th, while Wonderful College Prep Academy is ranked 1229th).
