Bell Gardens has gone 8-2 against Schurr recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bell Gardens Lancers will look to defend their home court against the Schurr Spartans at 7:00 p.m.

Bell Gardens is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 63 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Mark Keppel on Tuesday. They were dealt a 53-15 defeat at the hands of the Aztecs. The Lancers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Schurr). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Montebello 80-0. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Oilers are ranked 1189th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Schurr is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Bell Gardens, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-16.
