Basketball Recap: Carver High School of Engineering & Science Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Carver High School of Engineering & Science unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 51-21 loss at the hands of the Simon Gratz Bulldogs. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Desiray Zepp, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Jalynn Kensey, who put up seven points.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science and Simon Gratz will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Carver High School of Engineering & Science will challenge rival Freire Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Simon Gratz is set to square off against their familiar foe Mastery Charter Hardy Williams at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
