Baseball Game Preview: Drew Charter vs. Centennial Knights

Drew Charter are taking a road trip to take on the Centennial Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Drew Charter will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Drew Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Miller Grove 30-1 on Thursday. Considering Drew Charter has won eight games by more than 14 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ellis Grega was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Joseph Richburg was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cade Hudson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI.

Centennial not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 13th. Everything went their way against Midtown as Centennial made off with a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Centennial.

Diego Crespo looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That hit marked the first that he allowed this season.

At the plate, Centennial got a massive performance out of Carlos Marquez, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Ryan Crean also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Drew Charter is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. Centennial's record is now 4-13.
