Softball Recap: Blair's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Blair dropped down to 9-3 on Tuesday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Norris Titans by a score of 11-10. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 12-2.

Blair got a massive performance out of Laynie Brown, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one double. London Larsen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

As for Norris, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.

On Norris' side, Leah Ozenbaugh was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Greely Fredenberg, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blair will challenge Gross Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Norris, they will face off against Seward at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
