Football Recap: Lanier Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Lanier Christian Academy entered their contest against Mount Pisgah Christian on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lightning fell 20-7 to the Patriots.

Kellan Mack threw for 109 yards on nine of 20 attempts. Davis Rowan was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards and one score.

Tanner Ainsworth looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 112 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. What's more, he racked up 69.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August.

Lanier Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-7 record.

Lanier Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 39-0 victory against Dominion Christian on the 24th. As for Mount Pisgah Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Walker at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th. The Patriots will be up against the Wolverines' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.13 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
