Baseball Recap: CrossPointe Christian Academy Comes Up Short

CrossPointe Christian Academy suffered their closest loss since April 15, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Lafayette Christian Cougars by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-9 back in February.

CrossPointe Christian Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Smith, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two doubles.

CrossPointe Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Lafayette Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. CrossPointe Christian Academy will face off against Covington Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lafayette Christian, they will challenge Skipstone Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.56 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
