Softball Recap: Millard North Has No Trouble Against Kearney

After only two runs in their last match, Millard North made sure to put some runs up on the board against Kearney on Saturday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Bearcats. That looming 17-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Jules Severson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Severson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Abby Beard was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Tenley Kampbell, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Millard North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Millard North's record is now 3-1. As for Kearney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Millard North is set to square off against their familiar foe Millard West at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kearney will face off against rival North Platte on Monday. The game will give the Bearcats their first taste of in-conference action this season.
