Aquinas had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Westside Patriots a 3-0 shutout. Considering the Fightin' Irish have won seven games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Aquinas pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three matchups. As for Westside, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-9.

Coincidentally, Aquinas and Westside will both be playing Howard the next time they take the pitch. Westside will head out to face Howard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Aquinas will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
