Elk Grove has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They fell just short of the Franklin Wildcats by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thundering Herd of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Elk Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-2. As for Franklin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elk Grove will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sheldon at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Franklin also won't see the pitch for a while: their next contest is against Pleasant Valley at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
