Softball Game Preview: Middle Park Panthers vs. Moffat County Bulldogs

The Middle Park Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Moffat County Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Middle Park saw some tournament action on Thursday. They lost 35-20 to Jefferson. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Jamie Jordan made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Ayla Opsahl was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Moffat County came up short against Cedaredge on Saturday, falling 23-3.

Vanessa Herrara was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Middle Park's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Moffat County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Middle Park hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .442. However, it's not like Moffat County struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Middle Park took their win against Moffat County when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
