Baseball Recap: Augusta E Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Augusta E won the last time they faced Georgia School for Innovation & Classics and things went their way on Monday too. The Eagles walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Patriots. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Patriots on their field since April 18, 2023.

Daniel Poteet was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Williams, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win snapped Augusta E's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-5 record. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Augusta E will challenge Savannah Athletic Association at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Georgia School for Innovation & Classics, they will face off against Wilkinson County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.42 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
