Soccer Game Preview: Alcovy vs. Winder-Barrow

The Alcovy Tigers will face off against the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alcovy will be strutting in after a victory while Winder-Barrow will be coming in after a loss.

Alcovy headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Salem let them put that streak behind them. Alcovy never let Salem get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for Alcovy as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Winder-Barrow had taken Habersham Central down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Winder-Barrow fell just short of Habersham Central by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Winder-Barrow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Habersham Central are ranked 81st).

Winder-Barrow has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. Alcovy's win bumped their record up to 2-6.
