Preview: Bloomsburg Panthers vs. Loyalsock Township Lancers
Bloomsburg and Loyalsock Township are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Bloomsburg Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Loyalsock Township Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bloomsburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Wednesday, Bloomsburg's game was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 42-32 win over Warrior Run.
Brynna Zentner was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bloomsburg's points. Bella Pistoia was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Loyalsock Township waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Montoursville 67-23 on the road. Loyalsock Township has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.
Bloomsburg now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Loyalsock Township, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Bloomsburg couldn't quite finish off Loyalsock Township when the teams last played on January 3rd and fell 42-39. Can Bloomsburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
