Basketball Recap: Madera Takes a Loss

Madera lost against Sanger West back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Madera Coyotes took a 40-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sanger West Hornets. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sanger West can attribute much of their success to Soha Khan, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. Khan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nobelle Khamvilaythong-Yang, who posted ten points and six steals.

Madera's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Sanger West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-13.

Looking ahead, Madera will venture away from home to challenge Justin Garza at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sanger West, they will host McLane at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
