Soccer Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 6-0 to the Westover Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Westover this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Westover, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Monroe and Westover could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Golden Tornadoes will challenge Cairo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (450 vs. 153). Meanwhile, Westover (ranked 392nd) will meet Peach County (ranked 166th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
