Basketball Game Preview: Fontana Steelers vs. Brea Olinda Wildcats

The Fontana Steelers will head out to face off against the Brea Olinda Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Fontana took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Carter as Fontana made off with a 47-24 victory. The Steelers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Brea Olinda waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Mariners 58-19. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Mariners are ranked 991st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fontana better focus on containing Liz Han and Sarah Wang as the pair were huge in Brea Olinda's win. Han posted 23 points, while Wang earned 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Han has scored at least a third of Brea Olinda's points. Another player making a difference was Alisha Choi, who put up six points.

Brea Olinda pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Fontana, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.
