The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Santa Clara Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Monte Vista Christian saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They came up short against Aptos, falling 48-24.

Despite their defeat, Monte Vista Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hope Frommn, who posted eight points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Emily Madison, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara lost 65-39 to Leland on Tuesday. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.

Monte Vista Christian dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Santa Clara, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Monte Vista Christian couldn't quite finish off Santa Clara in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 and fell 35-33.
