Basketball Recap: Kylie Lapointe and Rylan Agin Secure Win for Santa Ynez

Santa Ynez won the last time they faced Paso Robles and things went their way on Friday too. The Santa Ynez Pirates walked away with a 55-48 victory over the Paso Robles Bearcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Leading Santa Ynez to victory were Rylan Agin and Kylie Lapointe. Agin went 7 for 15 on her way to 18 points, while Lapointe went 6 of 12 en route to 22 points. That's the most points Agin has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Molera, who put up six points and three steals.

Santa Ynez's record now sits at 14-9. As for Paso Robles, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Ynez will square off against Templeton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Ynez is facing Templeton at the right time seeing as Templeton is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Paso Robles, they will face off against Cabrillo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cabrillo will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Paso Robles surely won't give up without a fight.
