Basketball Recap: Madera Comes Up Short

Madera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost to the Firebaugh Eagles at home by a 38-20 margin. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 749th, while the Eagles are ranked 338th).

Madera's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Firebaugh, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madera and Kingsburg will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Firebaugh, they will be home for the holidays to greet Mariposa County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
