Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Carl Albert's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Piedmont typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Carl Albert proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 6-3. This was payback for the Titans, who suffered a 14-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Alexis Miller and AJ Bennett did most of the damage at the plate: Miller got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Bennett went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Addisyn Pursell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Carl Albert hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.

Carl Albert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Piedmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-11.

Coming up, Carl Albert will be playing in front of their home fans against Choctaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 3.3, the Yellowjackets 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Piedmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
