Basketball Game Preview: Ocean View Seahawks vs. Garden Grove Argonauts

The Ocean View Seahawks will venture away from home to square off against the Garden Grove Argonauts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Ocean View is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Valley Christian on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ocean View lost 50-28 to Valley Christian. The Seahawks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Garden Grove lost to Laguna Hills on the road by a 43-24 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Argonauts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 996th, while the Hawks are ranked 441st).

Garden Grove has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Ocean View, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Ocean View beat Garden Grove 39-28 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ocean View since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
