Mullen had won four straight games and Hayley Donohoe did her part to make it five on Thursday. The Broncos strolled past the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes with points to spare, taking the game 56-40 with plenty of help from Donohoe, who went 9-for-20 en route to 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least 16 points.
The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Donohoe, who posted six points along with six assists and six boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.
Defeat or not, Anselmo-Merna got some senior leadership from Shayleigh Coleman and Rhianen Myers. Coleman dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Myers dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards.
Mullen's record is now 11-4. As for Anselmo-Merna, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Coming up, Mullen will square off against Wallace at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Anselmo-Merna, they will challenge Sandhills/Thedford at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
