Basketball Recap: Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors vs. Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks
After flying high against North Farmington last Tuesday, Southfield Arts & Tech came back down to earth. The Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Black Hawks earlier this season, when they won 52-49.
Southfield Arts & Tech lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jordyn Ushery, who posted 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christen Celeste Banks, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bloomfield Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briana Young, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 22 boards. Those 22 rebounds gave Young a new career-high. Evia Barbu was another key player, putting up 16 points.
