Softball Recap: Omaha Westside Wins High-Profile Game Against Millard West

Omaha Westside faced Millard West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Hannah Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hadley Hansen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. Cadence Bedenbaugh (Bee-Den-Bow) was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

Omaha Westside's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Millard West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Omaha Westside will challenge Millard South at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
