Soccer Recap: Mt. Diablo Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Mt. Diablo was not quite Concord's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell just short of the Concord Bears by a score of 1-0. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Mt. Diablo and nudges their season record down to 4-14-1. As for Concord, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 5-7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Diablo will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on Dougherty Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mt. Diablo is facing Dougherty Valley at the right time seeing as Dougherty Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Concord has already played their next match (against Valley Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
