If Hesston was feeling good fresh off their 66-34 takedown of Trinity Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Swathers took a 40-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riley County Falcons on Friday. The Swathers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Hesston lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Daxon Deering, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 64 yards. Another player making a difference was Jerick Humphreys, who threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-2. As for Riley County, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5.

Hesston has already played their next game, a 57-0 defeat against Andale on the 24th. As for Riley County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-8 loss against Osage City on the 24th.
