Football Recap: Maple River Wins Going Away Against Medford

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jackson County Central, Maple River was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Medford Tigers with a sharp 43-19 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Tigers are ranked 291st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win got Maple River back to even at 1-1. As for Medford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maple River is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Clair/Loyola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Medford will take on rival Waterville-Elysian-Morristown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
