Softball Recap: Severance Wins Going Away Against Northridge

Severance's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Northridge Grizzlies as they made off with an 18-3 win. The Silver Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

Katie Thomas spent all three innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Severance always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted an OBP of .400.

Severance now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Severance will challenge Eaton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Reds will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Silver Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northridge, they will face off against University at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Grizzlies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
