Recap: Union Knights/Damsels vs. Moniteau Warriors
The Union Knights/Damsels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by Moniteau 62-32. Union has struggled against Moniteau recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Union saw an underclassman step up: Madalyn Dehart scored 14 points along with three steals and two blocks. That was a full 43.8% of Union's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brianna Schmidt was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Union bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Moniteau, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Commodore Perry at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. Commodore Perry comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Moniteau, they will head out on the road to face off against Clarion Area at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
