Baseball Recap: Trinity Lutheran Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Trinity Lutheran ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Clarksville Generals, sneaking past 4-2. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bode Brooks was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over eight innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Trinity Lutheran's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 4-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Brooks was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Brody Brown was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2025.

Trinity Lutheran's record is now 8-9. As for Clarksville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Trinity Lutheran will be playing in front of their home fans against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Irvington Preparatory Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Clarksville, they will take on Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
