Baseball Recap: Framingham Comes Up Short

Framingham suffered their closest loss since April 11, 2025 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Needham Rockets by a score of 6-4. The Flyers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Jon Coutinho made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Framingham and nudges their season record down to 6-9. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 5-12 Needham and 5-10 Newton North. As for Needham, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-12.

Framingham has already played their next game, a 14-2 loss against Wellesley on the 18th. As for Needham, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Newton North on the 16th.
