Softball Recap: Lincoln Southeast Takes a Loss

Lincoln Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Byng Pirates.

Addilynn Foley made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Avery Eklund also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Lincoln Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Byng, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Coming up, Lincoln Southeast will square off against Bellevue West at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Thunderbirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.45 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Byng, they will face off against Lone Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
