Preview: Tussey Mountain Titans vs. Everett Warriors
After two games on the road, Tussey Mountain is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Everett Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Tussey Mountain scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 61-53 win over Southern Fulton.
Tussey Mountain found their leader in underclassman Karah Husick, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Husick has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cara Benton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Everett waltzed into their contest last Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Northern Bedford County by a score of 59-48.
It was another big night for Cloe Price, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. She hasn't dropped below 16 points for eight straight games. Morgan Bowser was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Tussey Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Everett, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Thursday's matchup is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Tussey Mountain have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Everett struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
