Softball Recap: Longmont Trojans vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

Longmont extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-9-1. They came up short against the Frederick Golden Eagles, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 10-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Longmont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydnee Conway, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Frederick, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

On Frederick's side, Elayna Fisher spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

At the plate, Izzy Horne was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Natalie Sias, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.
