Soccer Recap: Irvington Comes Up Short

Irvington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Moreau Catholic Mariners. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in December of 2024.

Irvington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Moreau Catholic, they moved to 7-7 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Irvington wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 14-0 loss against James Logan on the 30th. As for Moreau Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 5-0 win against Mission San Jose on the 30th.
