Basketball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Has No Trouble Against West Catholic

Archbishop Carroll had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 23-point drubbing they dealt West Catholic on Thursday. The Archbishop Carroll Patriots blew past the West Catholic Burrs 60-37. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Alexis Eberz was her usual excellent self, putting up 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Archbishop Carroll's points. Another player making a difference was Kayla Eberz, who posted 12 points.

Despite the loss, West Catholic saw an underclassman step up: freshman Milan Trusty put up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Coleman, who had seven points.

Archbishop Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points over those games. As for West Catholic, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-12.

Coming up, Archbishop Carroll will face off against Archbishop Wood at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Carroll is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season. West Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
