Baseball Recap: Manchester Comes Up Short

Manchester extended their losing streak to 11 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-14-1 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jordan Red Jackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Manchester saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Patrick Helms, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

As for Jordan, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

On Jordan's side, Jared Carter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits Carter has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was John Dollar, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Manchester has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 defeat against Trion on the 12th. As for Jordan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against Schley County on the 11th.
