Softball Game Preview: Lutheran South Lancers vs. Webster Groves Statesmen

The Lutheran South Lancers will challenge the Webster Groves Statesmen at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Webster Groves took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lutheran South, who comes in off a win.

Lutheran South is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Fort Zumwalt North by a score of 11-6 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Webster Groves' offense. They came up short against Westminster Christian on Thursday, falling 8-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Statesmen were not able to get on the board.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-7-1. As for Webster Groves, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Lutheran South came out on top in a nail-biter against Webster Groves in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Statesmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
