Basketball Game Preview: Chavez Titans vs. Livingston Wolves

Chavez is 0-10 against Livingston since December of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Chavez Titans will take on the Livingston Wolves in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m.

Chavez is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They had to suffer through a 57-13 loss at the hands of Pleasant Grove. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-4.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Livingston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They breezed by Denair to the tune of 50-13 on Thursday. The Wolves pushed the score to 50-9 by the end of the third, a deficit the Coyotes cut but never quite recovered from.

Chavez better keep an eye on Elizabeth Avila. She was instrumental in Livingston's win, putting up 14 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. With that strong performance, Avila is now averaging an impressive 2.8 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasandra Soria, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Livingston was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Livingston, their record is now 2-4.

Chavez couldn't quite finish off Livingston in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 48-46. Can Chavez avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
