Softball Recap: Perry Bluejays vs. Madrid Tigers

Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Madrid Tigers. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Christina Kanealy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Karagyn Whelchel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Madrid, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.
