Baseball Recap: Maine West Comes Up Short

Maine West fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Highland Park on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Giants. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Maine West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Bruno, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Maine West's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Highland Park, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maine West will host Maine East at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors are facing the Blue Demons at the right time seeing as the Blue Demons are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Highland Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grayslake North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
