Softball Recap: Meadville Takes a Loss

If Meadville was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Grundy County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bevier Wildcats on Tuesday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Aubrey Young was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Emily Clutter was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meadville's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Bevier, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Meadville is taking a road trip to take on Brunswick at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.8 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bevier, they will square off against Brashear at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
