Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is King's 14th in Last 16 Outings

King had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Buena Bulldogs by a score of 60-52 on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Buena still got an impressive performance from Mimi Moon, who went 10-for-20 to rack up 32 points. What's more, Moon also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Alynah Leon was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

King has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points over those games. As for Buena, their loss dropped their record down to 23-5.

Coming up, King will face off against Esperanza at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buena does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
