Basketball Recap: Abby Calarco's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Berwick over Dallas

Berwick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost to the Dallas Mountaineers on the road by a 59-43 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 198th).

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Calarco, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Fraind, who earned eight points and eight rebounds.

Berwick's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Dallas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Berwick will welcome Wyoming Seminary College Prep at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dallas, they will head out on the road to challenge Pittston at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
