Soccer Recap: Canyon del Oro Comes Up Short

Canyon del Oro lost against Ironwood Ridge back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Canyon del Oro Dorados took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks. While losing is never fun, the Dorados can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Nighthawks are ranked 22nd).

Canyon del Oro's goal came courtesy of Isaiah Cabellero, which was the first he's scored this season.

Canyon del Oro's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ironwood Ridge, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Canyon del Oro wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Marana on the 18th. As for Ironwood Ridge, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
