Basketball Recap: Sahuaro Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Sahuaro had won six straight road games and Cisco Llamas did his part to make it seven on Monday. The Sahuaro Cougars took down the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts 72-55 thanks in part to Llamas, who almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine assists. He has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last nine times he's played.

Elijah Santini was another key player, going 6 for 8 on his way to 13 points. Those 13 points gave him a new career-high.

Sahuaro's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Mica Mountain, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.

Sahuaro will venture away from home to square off against Walden Grove at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Mica Mountain, they will face off against Salpointe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mica Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Salpointe Catholic likes a good challenge.
